Without doubt the best all male social commenting fish out of water parody musical duo to come out of New Zealand in the last 15 years. 'Don't expect to much....you'll love it!'

Extremely funny show with characters you will love from the very beginning. A "must-see" for those who look for beyond ordinary. Unconventional, unbeatable sense of humour, fresh with multiple interpolations of phenomenal music... The only shortcoming of the dvd is the missing list of episodes on its cover. The viewers have to play the dvd in order to find out which episodes the dvd actually contains - slightly impractical... However, benefits prevail once you get to see the show.
Great bargain. Hilarious show

Flight Of The Conchords First Series. Very funny comedy from Newzeland been around for a while but only started to get into them recently, can't wait to get series 2 very funny indeed.
Bret and Jemaine are two 'novelty' musicians trying to make it big in New York with the help of Murray, their moonlighting manager from the New Zealand consulate, and Mel, the obsessive fan who provides 100% of their following. Throughout the 12 episodes (across 2 dvds) the pair tackle issues such as jealousy, self-esteem, racism and how far good intentions can often lead to unintended consequences. These themes are all addressed in a range of musical styles, the pair seemingly adept at parodying a vast range of influences from Bowie to Hip-Hop. With each episode featuring one or two core songs based on the developing narrative one might expect these musical deviations to become tiresome after two or three episodes, but the consistent quality of lyrics and production mean that the songs can stand alone as pieces of comedic and artistic brilliance. The lean but strong supporting cast of characters, clever writing, and obviously high levels of audiovisual production, make sure that the comedic and musical abilities of the two stars are able to shine. One may have to give it time to be fully drawn into the same blocks of New York that the Conchords inhabit, but once there you will not want to leave, and the end of each episode will find you wanting to lose yourself again.Read full review
