Having mislaid my copy whith the original cover which was what originally drew me to the book, on reading the opening paragraph I was surprised at the quality of the prose, being both poetic and spiked with the right balance of humour leading you into the familiar Philip Dick world that has names that conjure up both a realistic future with great irony. If the quality stays this high it will be worth reading despite me remembering that the explanation for the protagonist being stranded in this world where no-one knows him being very feeble. That is the problem when an author writes with out no clear idea where he's heading. When it works as is the case with 'A Scanner Darkly' it is a joy. However this is the exception rather than the rule. So seek out reviews you can trust before purchasing any of his books. I have no criticism with the deliver and the book arrived in a good condition.Read full review

Dick has more imagination in one eyelash than many writers could ever have.
