Makes great espresso and cappucino. I had an older version of this which eventually died. I have discovered this is because I didn't maintain it properly. Because it has a solenoid it needs to be "backflushed" at least once a week with a proper cleaning powder. (There is nothing about this in the instructions, but I guess they would prefer you to buy a new machine every 5 years) Lots of material on how to do this online. Don't bother buying one of these if you are not going to maintain it. It also should be descaled once a month if you live in a hard water area. Great machine though, and it is easy to get hold of spare parts if anything is missing or broken.
I didn't realize how breakable this machine actually would be. I didn't know to start with and when I found out it was plastic I was worried. It then broke in the mail and there was a long a annoying refund case. If it hadn't of broken considering the features It has it should have been a good machine. The brass portafilter and the 3 way solenoid are the big features on this machine, but I would look to others such as the gaggia classic or the baby twin which both are made of metal, if you have the money and can get a good deal go for a Rancilio silvia, in some cases if buying brand new the silvia might cost the same as the baby twin new, but one the silvia, will look better and have a better build quality. If you have a good arm muscle then get a retro La Pavoni, they are built to last and then do!!! Just don't plastic espresso machines, they will break in the post and lets face it stainless steel looks better!!Read full review
This model is heavy duty throughout but alas now Phillips have taken over gaggia they look much the same but now made mostly moulded plastic .so the baby twin or baby classic is the one to buy .easy to service and spares easy to find

Absolutely love this coffee machine. Once you have found the right coffee and amount to put in (which didn't take me long) you will have a perfect coffee every time. I only drink black coffee but my wife uses the steamer to make lattes and that works a treat to. Simple to use and very little effort to clean. Top marks from me. Might even get another one for my office!
After a lot of research I chose to buy Gaggia Baby Twin because it promised everything that I was looking for. I bought it in December and to date it has delivered everything it promised, it is quick and easy to use and would recommend it to anyone. It is quite compact and not much bigger than a filter coffee maker and looks very good in the kitchen.
