The first time I have heard an album by Geneva, and I've got to say,it's pretty impressive. The quality of the singers' voice is excellent, and the melodies fit perfectly with this.

I'm currently having a bit of a Britpop 1993-1997 revival. Even though its often derided as a media created movement, it was still a great time for guitar music if your selective. Most people are aware of the bigger bands of the time, such as Oasis, Blur, Pulp, Suede and Elastic. However the media frenzy provide one main benefit in a time before downloads and blogs etc, that was exposure to large quantities of guitar bands. If you believe reports labels were fighting to sign anyone and everyone. So as you can imagine some Britpop bands were very hit, whilst other miss. Geneva were one of many bands that got swept up in tail end of Britpop but never got much exposure, however there debut album Further could be considered one of the more underrated albums of Britpop. Signed to Nude, the same label as Suede, Geneva employ a similar etherial falsetto to great effect. If you like grand and sultry guitar drive rock/pop then Geneva could be for you. Check out tracks No One Speaks, Tranquilizer and Further to get a good idea of their range. Personally I really like this album and along with Gene, Dubstar and The Cardigans, Geneva have made a welcome recent edition to by Britpop collection.Read full review
This was a superb debut release and did not recieve anywhere near the plaudits it should have done. With amazing vocals and guitar rifts the melodies just keep coming. Recommended!
