I wanted a plain, black numerals on white-faced watch for my 87 year old aunt, who has macular degeneration. It proved a surprisingly tall order until I found this reasonably-priced Ravel. Just what the doctor ordered! Why so difficult? Amazingly, it seems there are hardly any watches that are billed as large face that are actually easy to read, & certainly not if you have sight issues. One common problem is that the face background is often a pearlised white. Couple that with even shinier metallicised numerals (or worse, just numeral markers) & the watch is rendered less readable. I find these sorts of watches difficult because I have the glare disability of early cataracts. My aunt also finds Roman numerals less distinguishable. So bravo Ravel! Clearest 'clock' face around and at a totally fair price! The same watch comes in gold or silver colour settings & with a black or brown strap. I also bought the same equally-clear, slightly smaller Ravel watch with a choice of straps in brighter colours. I got a rather fetching aqua strap that got great reviews too. Highly recommended!Read full review
