When the door wouldn't open the wife was insisting on a new washing machine? fortunately I had heard about replacement handles. I bought this for £9, watched a quick You Tube video on how to fit it? Took me about 15 minutes to fit, so easy to do and works perfectly.

Brought this. Thankfully works as well as the original .... which sadly for hotpoint is a very bad design. This is my second. The first broke after a few months hard work. But so did the original.

No instructions so a bit of a puzzle to work out how it goes together given that your one will be broken and in bits. if you're not practical or don't understand how return springs work you may have some trouble getting it right. Trial and error is the order of the day. It took me a couple of goes to get it right, about twenty minutes start to finish. Then it went back on the machine and is working perfectly. Saved about £75 in labour/call-out/VAT doing it myself.

Fixed my washing machine. Didn't need to pay call out fees or repair company bill. It was a bit fiddly, but not beyond a 50 something lady to DIY. The easiest way is to take the door off, assemble the handle, fit, put door back together and re hang. Needed a cross hatch screwdriver and teeny socket set for the door.

Handle fitted perfectly, couple of tips, take photos beforehand, of mechanism, spring ect, also lot easier with door removed, to fit.
