A lot of very interesting detail about and photographs of the three German ships. Where the book ifalls down is in the quality of the illustrations of the ships in action, which are obviously textured 3D models. As a 3D artist myself, I know that this can work. However, the illustrations have an obvious computer generated look, the texturing is coarse and the overall effect is that of a computer game from about ten years ago. In some areas the illustrations are so dark that the detail becomes hard to see. By comparison, "British Light Cruisers 1939-45" by the same publisher has very fine original watercolour and gouache paintings of these ships in action that really add value to the book. I'm sorry to say that I was sadly disappointed by the illustrations in "German Pocket Battleships".
