I have to admit before I bought these I was extremely sceptical about their efficiency. I though it was another money wasting gimmick. How wrong I was! My mum has terrible eyesight and wouldn't ever drive at night because of the glare from headlights. She had heard about these glasses and said she wanted some. Her birthday was in March so I wanted to buy her some. I did an awful lot of research before I decided which pair to buy or whether to even bother! I even phoned Specsavers. They assured me my mum already has AR coating (Anti glare) on her glasses. My mum knew nothing about this so it clearly doesnt work on her! She was terrified to drive at night and whenever she came to visit us she would always leave before it got dark. Whenever we went out as a family I'd have to go and fetch her if it was at night. Anyway, after weeks of research I decided to buy these. Even though I read a few negative reviews I thought i'd give them a try and I'm so glad I did. My mum now has a new lease of life and WILL now drive at night!! My mum is extemely happy and she said they can potentially save lives! Alot of people suffer with the same problem and either slow right down when oncoming headlights approach or swerve all over the road because they cant see. Now I no longer have to pick her up all the time, she stays longer when she visits (although thats not always a good thing lol) but most of all she has her confidence back. She's no longer a prisoner at night The glare doesnt bother me but I tried my mums glasses and they are very good! The definitely tone down the lights get rid of the haze. They fit over her prescription glasses very well and they don't even look too bad either! Buy some of these and see for yourself! The price is great too.Read full review

I duly put the glasses on driving back home and , if anything, vision was impaired.

Night driving glasses should have category 0 lenses, not cat 1's. You CANNOT enhance light at night, that is a fact. Calling these sunglasses 'night vision' is plain misleading. In actual fact, many science experts say that you shouldn't wear glasses for driving at night with any sort of tint, even a Cat 0, because any sort of tint at all will reduce the amount of visible light. Personally I don't agree with that because I find Cat 0's do work pretty well and the levels of translucence mean visible light removed is small to the point of being insignificant. Importantly, a Cat 0 lens set will still dull off headlamp glare, so they do at least work (one word of warning though: polarised lenses don't work at night either. This is another common myth purported by 'night driving glasses' sellers more interested in your money than dealing in facts). I am quite sure some wear these and think their vision is improved because glare from headlamps etc. is dulled, but they don't realise how much of the visible light spectrum is actually removed. This kind of misleading claptrap actually makes me quite angry because people will wear these with false confidence at night hen they are in fact, actually pretty dangerous.Read full review
