Although the cable works it does not really 'split' the signal from my DVD player and TV box, therefore my TV monitor is confused between getting two pictures coming as one and thus generating 'snow'. This makes the cable useless and waste of money. I now have to look for a cable that can automatically switch between inputs from two devices.

Physically this works perfectly. I have to HDMI outputs plugged into one HDMI socket. I realise that only one device can be used but if the second device is in standby mode, I get a lot of noise in the picture. I have to either unplug it or turn it off at the mains.
