Obviously you take a chance with a used hard drive anyway, but sadly, this one proved fine for a short while but seemed to 'give up the ghost' not long after I purchased; it which was rather disappointing! I doubt I shall ever be tempted to buy a second-hand hard drive again!

Item was the wrong size for my Xbox (my fault for not looking at the size), so I couldn't check if it worked, and it didn't work when we managed to check it in my brothers computer. It made a clicking noise and didn't work.

Bought this as a used item, so this review is based on condition and second-hand value. Although I've only had this Hitachi Ultrastar HDD a short time it has performed flawlessly, is very quiet, and its enormous capacity of 1TB means that it should prove to be extremely good value, provided it stays reliable. UPDATE: Just reading through some reviews and noticed this one. The Hitachi 1TB HDD is still going strong as of July 2020 [over 7 years later] and is used almost every day as a data disk carrying big media files. Probably my best ever computer parts purchase.
