I upgraded to this phone in summer 2012, shortly after its original release and had previously only ever owned Motorola clam shell mobiles. This was my first smartphone which I used exclusively up to autumn 2016 and I'd generally say it was an excellent 'starter smartphone' in 2012. Its pros are; excellent HTC design & physical construction, its 4" compact size (which fits easily into jean/trouser pockets, even with a gel skin fitted), it takes very good pictures and reasonable quality videos. Its flaws are; with only 1GB RAM and 4GB Storage it can run slow at times and you need to regularly clear phone cache/data to make room for app updates/new apps, it only has a maximum additional storage capacity of up to 32GB via a Micro SD card (which is fine for light use but not if you don't regularly backup/move photos, videos, music files etc. to another device, internet browsing is slow and limited due to screen size, the HTC Sync Software never worked particularly well. In summary, a very good starter smartphone in 2012, which gave me over 4 years of regular use.Read full review

Wanted a cheap smartphone for going on holidays. This HTC One V is just what I needed. If you are use to Samsung or Iphone, it takes some playing around to get use to its apps and functions. There is plenty of reviews online about this phone, which is what convince me to buy it. On standby the battery does last a few days though I never really took account of how long. Takes a standard size sim and according to some website, it take up to 64gb microSD card. Hope this review helps you.

This is easily the best smartphone available for around £200. It is solid, full of easy to use features around the android OS, and is discreet with a large very clear screen. The camera is superb and the sound excellent. It's been around a while now (March 2013) but it still represents excellent value in the mid-range smartphone category.
I've read a lot of negative views about this camera so it was with some doubts that I bought it. I'd had an HTC legend for a few years and wanted an upgrade but not with a screen that made it more like a laptop. So - the major points - it does everything very well with no hold ups, can't speak about games as I don't use them but I've never found it short of computing power. Screen and camera are good if not exceptional (I don't really expect SLR performance) Battery is incredible! In general use I only bother to charge it every 3 days against the legends every day. I'm getting used to ICS but have found no real issues with the system, just a few different ways to do things
For the price I paid for this renovated and warranteed phone it is amazingly good value for money. It may be an older model but it suits my needs just fine and it has just had a major android upgrade. Delighted with this purchase
