It's big and mighty! Being a Hasselblad product, this zoom lens does not disappoint in quality of finish or performance. The flexibility of having just one lens doing the job of several, is always tempting but usually cost and degraded performance tend to take control. However, do not worry when you are looking at this lens! It is not cheap, for sure, but it does replace a 50mm and an 80mm and a 120mm lenses quite effectively. In that respect, it is cheap (you don't often see that word used to descibe anything Hasselblad!). But really, it is. More than that, it gives the photographer some excellent framing flexibility and freedom from potential hernias and pulled ligaments----just try lugging all those lenses around if you doubt it. The comparison with the mentioned prime lenses is indicative that in 'real life' useage, you will not see any significant difference in your results. The zoom is that good.It is particularly so when you realise than many frames from fixed focal length lenses, have to be enlarged a bit to fill the printed frame, whereas the zoom can do this optically at the time of capture....this can be very important. You will have to learn how to use such a heavy lens to best effect. A tripod is the simplest solution but pumping metal might attract the more enegetic amongst us! It is a heavy combination with an H1 H2 or H3. That is the only downside. If you get a chance, buy one.Read full review
