Was quite disappointed with Heathrow Airport the first 25 years. I was expecting lots of pictures diagrams and maps of the Airport buildings and construction of the terminals. The chapter on The Central Area chapter is mostly pictures of aircraft and buses. Nothing much of the buildings. The Europa building (Terminal 2) isn’t even given its own chapter, I was expecting pictures and diagrams of it. Terminal 1 is only worthy of a 2 and half page chapter! Whilst it’s nice seeing pictures of aircraft I have plenty of books specifically on aircraft. About 90% of the illustrations in this book are of the aircraft. I’d bought a book expecting to see old photos, illustrations and old plans of the central area airport terminals but was left disappointed. There’s a lot of photos of the old central area probably many more pictures I’ve never even seen but very few appear in this book. At 144 pages including index, contents acknowledgments it’s quite a thin book. Read full review
