As far as i know, Hitachis are the best drives round. I've always trusted Hitachis (ex. IBMs) to store my data. There are conflicting opinions on this but my experience tells me Hitachis manufacture GREAT Hard Disk Drives. I've used it for my Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15 notebook and it works fine. It's dual bootable : one partition utilizes Windows 7 and the other one uses Linux Mint 12.0. Both 64-bit OSs.

Recently a laptop belonging to a work colleague suffered hard drive failure rendering it useless. Knowing that I dabbled with computers and had repaired others, they had tasked me with finding and fitting a replacement. Obviously, with Christmas approaching I needed to get an affordable replacement which didn't compromise on quality. After some searching this Hitachi ticked all the right boxes. It matched the capacity of the broken original drive, was keenly priced and came from a reputable company. Since being fitted, the laptop has performed flawlessly and my colleague is chuffed to bits. I would recommend this drive to anyone in the same position.
