the reason for buying this dvd set is i find the second world war era fascinating , sad , dramatic ,harrowing , all the key ingredients for a modern day blockbuster film but this happened in real life, to everyday people and not made up in hollywood should i say, i watch as many films and documentaries as i can on the subject and i never get bored watching them all the peoples of the world should count ourselves really lucky that the people who went to war for what they believed in was wrong did us a favour.
this series is a well dialogued documentary from the history channel unlike a lot of other publishers it recognises the talent of the english generals rather than glossing over the british efforts.Too many of the other docs by the yanks glorify themselves too frequently, looks at all perspectives of the war not just the U.S.A point of view
