I had the original viynl copy of this, and to be honest it had faded into the midsts of time. Was watching a documentry on TV about Deep Purple and the "family tree"which included a section on Ian Gillan, which featured this album, and it brought memories flooding back,so E-Bay came trumps once again, and i am now blasting this album all over again.......and sharing it with my family. This album still sounds fresh after all these years(originally released at the height of the bands popularity in 1981),bear in mind that there are tracks on this that made the top ten,not easy back in the 80's!. The repackaged album give an insight in to how it all went wrong, when it was going so right. It also gives a runthrough of how the tracks were put together, and it also provides "extras"and "B"sides, which make this altogether a very worthwhile purchase.Read full review

This album was great when it first came out and remastering has worked well, plus the additional tracks makes it unmissable for Gillan dans

I bought This LP the day it came out and having fond memories of it,I decided to invest in this 2007 reissue.I often find with bonus track reissues, the bonus material tends to dilute the overall quality of the original product. Not so here, the added tracks greatly enhance Future shock and its not just the excellent Mutually assured destruction and Trouble either. The added b-sides more than hold there own.The 15 years or so since I last listened to this record have been kind and, infact, all the material has improved with age.Needless to say,Gillan were a highly original rock band. For the uninitiated think deep purple playing new wave with a jazzer on keyboards and punks answer to hendrix on guitar. This particular line remains the finest band ian gillan has graced.Top draw.buy buy buy
