This is a desktop C2D cpu. When I buy something i buy it on purpose. This CPU was a max of mainboard where i have installed it. It has onely one disadvantage and that is 2MB cache but it has 1066 FSB so it comparable to 2GHZ Core i3 cpu s. so why to spend money on some i3 when I can buy better CPU for lower prize. Adavntages of i3 cpus vs core 2 duo familly can not be found by regular home user (pico secons on pc start and a bit better in multitasking of course i3 works with ddr3 ram) ... i3 is week cpu. If you want to spend money on something better than C2D definetly buy i5 or i7.
Needed a cheap and good processor for a home media server. The E6400 sure did the job. Also a great overclocker if you need it for gaming. One of the 'Bang for the Buck' processors, compared to others, for the 775 platform. Still a great and cool solution for the home desktop / small server / overclocked gaming.
this cpu has made a significant difference to all the applications on the pc is was purchased for, a worthwhile investment.
Processor Number E6400 # of Cores 2 Clock Speed 2.13 GHz L2 Cache 2 MB FSB Speed 1066 MHz FSB Parity No Instruction Set 64-bit
A very good one, not the best actually, but strong again. There is a little crisi when there are more programs running, but this happen rarely in the common use.
