Upgrade from Pentium D
My laptop is a Acer 4630z. It originally came with a Pentium D chip at 2 GHz. I bought this chip based on the multiplier. Seeing that most laptop bus speeds are locked. With a multiplier of 12 & front bus speed of 166 I expected to maintain the 2 Ghz speed, but nope. This chip boosted the front bus speed to 200. times that by 12 & you have 2.4 Ghz speed. I have seen heat spike over 75 degrees c. (watching Netflix) & that's hotter than I'd prefer so I'm going to look into better cooling options, Or another chip. Overall I'm very satisfied with this chip. Unlike my Dell Inspiron 2200 I did have to full dismantle my laptop to install.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Works for a while, but then HDMI port stops working
I originally bought this device for streaming purposes, and it worked well for the first few days, albeit with not great video quality at default. Great for older core2duo

Very cheap, very simple performance enhancer.

Dell D630 Cpu Replacement
Works perfectly well on my Dell D630 and has now for a few months so chip is ok. Did arrive with a few pins bent and thermal paste still on top but cleaned it up and bent the oins back with the old biro trick and cpu worked first time!
