Islabike are simply the best bikes for kids because they are well made and beautifully lightweight - which allows children to control them, and allows parents to carry them easily - and the handgrips, cranks and brake levers are correctly sized for children. They seem expensive but you do get what you pay for - with the added advantage that when your child outgrows the bike you can then sell it on for similar money. Some even manage to make money on the resale. They make a great used buy.

So I purchased a new Beinn 20s and a beinn 20L on the advice of a friend and to be completely honest it was the best thing I ever did, my kids have excelled on these bikes! The fact that everything is made to proportion for kids and at high quality is why they are so good and helps retain there used value , I have also just purchased a 3 year old used beinn 24 in good condition and it works as good as new , once again credit to the build quality. You may think that they are expensive but if you went to halfords and spent £120 on a kids bike after two years you would struggle to give it away let alone sell it, you would lose very little on a new islabike after 3 years and if you purchased a used one you may even make a few quid on it crazy but true. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.Read full review
