I have both albums on vinyl, purchased at the time of their original release, and had transcribed them both to CD, but when the opportunity came along to buy "proper" cd versions at this price I took full advantage. The music, the voice and the production are wonderful. Self compositions and songs from Jacques Brel, Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell and accompanying musicians like Buddy Emmons and Stephen Stills make this a treasure.

Two somewhat contrasting albums linked by the purity of Collins' voice - WILD FLOWERS with its semi-classical arrangements by Joshua Rifkin incorporating flutes, cellos and other string instruments presentsd beautiful sound pictures of Leonard Cohen stand-bys like the wistful @Hey,That's No Way To Say Goodbye' and Judy's own, epic and elliptical 'Albatross'. 'WHO KNOWS WHERE THE TIME GOES' has similar material - Cohen,Bob Dylan,Uan Tyson as wroters but the treatment is electric pop backings. Both work.
This is a remarkable product. I cannot believe that I bought the vinyl album "Wildflowers" over 40 years ago prompting me to collect Judy's whole output. I still have the albums but, sadly, have not played any vinyl for about 12 years. When I saw this CD on Ebay, I could not resist it - it was a 'must-have' but upon receiving it in the post at my workplace, I loaded it into the CD changer in the Lexus to play on the drive home and was blown away by the sound quality. I don't know what I expected but I was not ready for this. The car has 5.1 surround sound through 7 speakers including a sub woofer and I felt cocooned inside the whole sound experience. It is as if the tracks were recorded yesterday using high-tech digital recording equipment and I listen to the tracks just as I did in my twenties - in awe of Judy's talent. Judy is still going strong (see YouTube) and is apparently touring the U.K. at the moment of writing. This product comes highly recommended for all fans of Judy Collins, old and young, and I hope more will come to know and appreciate this consummate artist. On the down side - a small caveat - I would have preferred to have the lyrics printed in the small booklet in the jewel case (even though I know them by heart).Read full review
I thought the album had a peaceful and relaxing feel to it and sometimes sensual. And the way that Judy sings is just wonderful. The Story Of Issac was a haunting track, as well as the track Pretty Polly was.The majority of the tracks were written by Leonard Cohen, who is in his own right a singer of songs, i use the term loosely, but a great songwriter. Four of the tracks on the CD were written by Judy, herself, who can pen a good lyric. One track was written by Bob Dylan. What can you say about him other than one of the greatest lyricists of our time. The only thing that I disliked about the album was that it stopped. I wanted to go on. I decided to buy the CD because I have been a Judy Collins fan since 1967, when I first heard Both Sides Now. For me, it was a real treat to listen to and enjoy. SO ENJOY!Read full review
I was pleased to purchase this double cd, which comprises my two favourite Judy Collins records. I should get a new record turntable, but cd s are more convenient in a way, although I preferred the LP as a work of art, and even the type of sound though some prefer the clean sound of cd s. I bought it as it was a good price and was sent quickly and efficiently.
