Julie London was near the beginning of her career when she recorded this album, her first with a jazz orchestra. Apart from Eartha Kitt and Lena Horne, she is possibly the sexiest singer of the fifties, with a warm, intimate feel to her voice. She went on to record over twenty Albums for the Liberty label, all of which sold consistently well. For collectors, it has become more and more difficult, and expensive, to find top copies of her original records, and so it is now increasingly worthwhile to consider buying modern copies which have all the advantages of her songs in pristine condition, with great reproductions of the original covers. In addition, as here, manufacturers add additional tracks, recorded at the same time but originally issued as 45s, giving the product extra value. This is one of Julie's best, and classiest, recordings. My favourite - 'Blues in the night'Read full review
