This item is very straight forward to use, following the user manual and also getting tutorial from YouTube. I did not use the compass as dint know how. I am not saying it is useless; however, I did not use it during my satellite dish alignment, using the Satfinder. I only used the signal meter, which was fun for me, turning the dish around till I got the signal reading up to 10. I got the strong signal and my satellite receiver box is with lots of channels I cant complain. Did not have to pay the engineers lots of money to do this for me

I wasn't expecting much for less than 12 quid but was reasonably surprised. The sat finder is very easy to set up and use, just two co ax leads, plug in the battery case and off you go. The compass supplied is a bit sensitive and tends to be a bit difficult to align but if you know where South is it is quite easy to estimate 28.2 degrees East then the sat finder does it's magic. Worth the money for certain.

The sat finder seems to work ok but the compass is worse than useless !!! I requested a replacement compass which was promptly sent but alas that was just as bad !!! My tip is but a sat finder then invest in a quality compass for the initial line up.
