I was fortunate enough to have met all the Clancy brothers and was in Canada around the time young Liam joined his brothers. The book is written in a gentle personal style that has the power to make the reader feel involved. It's a story of a personal journey that goes far beyond the music. It's an insight into a family of wonderfully talented people who brought pleasure to millions of people regardless of their nationality, but particularly to Irish men and women who had made their lives in far flung places. A damn good read.

I have been a life long fan of Irish music and was raised on the music of The Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem and The Dubliners. Since then I have followed the music of Liam Clancy up until the time of his death. I have seen him on various chat shows and wanted to read his own account of his life. I found the book to be well written and at times funny and also sad and certainly very open about his thoughts on a wide range of subjects. Interesting to read of all the different people he met and his relationship with his parents and brothers.
Thank you for speedy delivery, good book..

After buying "the Essential Liam Clancy 2CD+DVD set" I wanted to know more about him' A most impressive and exciting story well worth reading.Wishing to read more I bought from another dealer "The Mountain of Women" which turned out to be the same book with a different title. I agree with Bob Dylan that he was the greatest Folk singer ever and a very interesting person. Goodbye the Doors.James Dean and Pele, Liam is my new hero
