I'm on my third unit at home now, having used them at home and in work for seven hours a day- for over 15 years. I bought my first one when I developed a shoulder problem due to using a standard mouse which requires a lot of shoulder movement. A trackball seemed to be the logical alternative but when I looked around it became apparent that they all seemed to be moulded for right-handed use only. Since I am left-handed they wouldn't work for me. Then I found this one. It is usable for anyone and I, at least found it very comfortable and easy to use after a little practice. The scroll keys require a driver installation and take a bit of getting used to but once you have, no problems. It's easy to keep clean too.

I bought this because I don't have much space and tend to use the mouse on my chest or leg. As an Idea it's fine but you can't school easily though you can assign the small buttons to this task both auto and standard but on the whole I am have to reach over to the side bars and pull them down which wastes time and makes the who process more of a pain than necessary. You have two large buttons for the left and right, and two very small ones inside them and back which you have to keep reaching for, it looks nice, feels nice but when you start using it not so good, I think there is a reason when I did a search for driver updates that I could not find anything available.

I bought this mouse for my laptop as both my wife and i already use this type of mouse on other computers. The mouse is very easy to use does not require a mouse mat and although it costs more than a standard mouse i feel it was money well spent. Our two other logitech mice are at least seven years old and still work as good as new, and are very easy to clean just lift out the ball give it a wipe use a small soft brush to clean where the ball sits and thats it. Compared to a normal mouse that you push around a mat it's no contest, on this mouse only the ball moves it is more accurate and needs less space to operate. For me apart from the price there are no bad points about the logitech marble mouse and i would not use any other type.
Brilliant things - computers and operating systems come and go, everything need to be replaced and updated for the latest fashion, but my Logitech Marble Mouse goes on regardless. Easy to use, needs little deskspace, only one moving part (and how would you break that when you could proably play snooker with it?) I take it with me and plug it into the laptop when I'm tutoring so the student can use the mouse pad and I use the trackball simultaneously. Accurate and comfortable - every PC in my house has one. Yes there are wackier trackball designs on the market but the top-ball design is so intuitive to use. Somewhere I read "Thank you Logitech for keeping and not altering a winning design" and I echo those sentiments wholeheartedly. My only regret is that there isn't a wireless version.

Not currently using the one I bought because it's used on another computer, but already using one from a previous purchase on this computer - i.e. definitely good enough to buy again, although only really at a value price; £50 from the manufacturer is steep so certainly never be given to supposing it's worth what some vendors charge, it's an automated production line manufacturing process to make plastic peripheral devices after all, £20ish is therefore very reasonable for an above average mouse [£5 is a decent average mouse, 4x that should be magnificent, end of story]. If I get more devices, I will likely get more of this device, having owned the MS Intellimouse Trackball and the Kensington Expert, this is a bold claim - but I always gravitate towards a device with this mouse plugged in, so I now add it where I'm likely to be working and see increased productivity wherever I use it. There are a few hurdles when configuring for Linux systems, I have a workaround for scrolling that doesn't need Setpoint installed, there's no comparison but it does scroll in a useful way.Read full review
