We are reading Lady Susan (as well as the Watsons and Sanditon) at our next Jane Austen book group and I am struggling with the epistolary novel of Lady Susan so it seemed sensible to purchase the DVD, Love and Friendship. I can't say I have warmed to this either, so it is difficult to make an informed decision over how good it is. I shall persevere and re-read the book and watch the DVD again before we meet to discuss. Not sure I would recommend it to anyone who is not a JA fan - I just love all the main 6 books, but Lady Susan was a very early book and I have to get into it somehow.

The novel written by Jane Austen was simply a series of letters as many novels in the 18th century were. The film is amusing and beautifully acted by Kate Beckinsale and the superb cast. Well worth watching if you are a fan of 'Period Dramas'.
