If you are buying this as a replacement for Maplin Weather Station (Our senders typically last about 5 years) be aware that Maplin changed the communication protocol about end of 2012 so although is still same frequency (433 Mhz) and looks exactly the same, it will not work with 2013 onwards units even though all were manufactured by the same company (Misol who still make their own units to old system).

This Unit works well as a replacment for the original Tx supplied with Tandy (Radio Shack) WH1081 Station. It'll probably work with all the WH range as they all use the common 433mhz frequency. Hope this helps. Steve.

This unit works great, providing your station doesn't have radio controlled clock as this unit doesn't support it. Everything else works fine though.

I have a Maplin weather station which is physically identical to this suppliers unit, but when I complained that it did not work I was told it was not compatible electronically. I feel this should have been mentioned in the product description

My Maplin weather station is 8yrs old now and this is my 3rd transmitter. The transmitter seems to be the consumable part of the station, so approximately £15 every 4yrs to keep it running is not bad. New part installed and station back up working again.
