Brilliant film. not only does my little'un love it, i do too.! great one to watch over and over. definitely recommend this.
I originally got this one from my mate in work as a copy, yeah I know highly illegal and for a very good reason. But copys are just that,....copys and you've got no comeback so having tried to play it for the kids getting 2 thirds into it and it freezing,...equals very unhappy kids. But the fact remains that it is a very good film and the comedy works on two different levels at the same time for the kids: slapstick humour and for the adults the humour works on a much higher level. altogether a well put together movie with well chosen characters played brilliantly by all the featured actors. the one that did it for me was Baron-Cohen as king of the lemurs definately stole it for me. The joy in animation is that it is timeless and you can sit down with the kids and watch it again and again and this film wont let you down the featurette Penguin Christmas Caper is brilliant too..... recomend this filmRead full review
Madagascar as a stand-alone feature was really an excellent example of modern cinema cartoons with the wonderful animation we have come to expect from the likes of toy story or moinsters inc. the real treat in this, however, are the vocal gymnastics of david schwimmer (melman), chris rock (marty) and sacha baron cohen (julien). somehow turning ross into an accident-prone giraffe was a master-stroke! beautiful, fun, lightweight entertainment which was just about perfect at 86mins and holds the attention right through. the christmas caper features the skipper and his privates (the mischevious penguins plotting an escape in madagascar). i saw the featurette when i went to see 'the curse of the were-rabbit' and it was an enjoyable added extra. the penguins provided more than their fair-share of the humour in the film and here shine on their own for about 10mins. the zoo is celebrating christmas merrily, but the private notices the polar bear is rather sad and alone so he heads out to find a present, getting himself kidnapped in the process. the skipper leads his crack-team of pyromaniac penguins into action to save the private from a certain (pooch-related) demise!Read full review
The characters are great, especially the penguins, the Christmas Caper movie is brilliantly funny and well worth watching a couple of extra times. Ben Stiller and David Schwimmer provide perfect voices for their characters and Chris Rock is the Zebra! Just great fun.
Madagascar is a great film about animals and is captured well in the whole of this film, it makes going to the zoo even more appealing than ever. The characters are fantastic as too the storyline. All ages can watch and enjoy this film and know that it is another animated whizz from the dreamworks crew. With fun and laughter in places I think this film is certainly one the whole family can watch time and time again and think its great each time it is watched. You dont have to go to the wild for this because this brings the wild to you. The lemurs are particularly good especially the king with his crown. I love it! And so does my 2 year old daughter
