Love this, just perfect alongside my other Makita cases and all stack together. Bought an insert for my Impact Driver so really happy. Would be better if they had a handle on the side to be carried like a case though... :)

These MakPac cases must be some sort of a practical joke with Makita - I can just picture the boardroom brainstorm meetings now, "let's save money designing cases for our tools and steal another company's (Tanos) totally inadequate design, stick a 'Makita' logo on it and sell it for a fortune", "our diehard Makita fans will love 'em" Well I don't! I bought this Type 2 for my Jigsaw £20+ then I bought the correct 'inner' £10+ which is basically one of those plastic trays that you find in a box of Milk Tray. But if you expect this Makpac & inner combo to keep your precious Makita Power Tool safe then think again because it is totally unfit for purpose - if you tip the box up or store it on its edge then whatever is inside will clatter around inside just as bad as having no box at all! I like the design of these boxes and the idea of them locking together - and maybe I am being unfair because I've only tried the one for a Jigsaw but when it comes to keeping my tools in great condition I much prefer the old 'blow-mold' boxes personally, I am feeling generous giving it 2 stars, only because they do look smart. Will I buy one for my Circular Saw and my Drills?? ...at these prices? Not if I can procure a blow-mold type no.Read full review

They are very strong well made boxes, but small improvements would be welcomed. I have a stack of 3 that I keep together, screws in a type 1 on top, a type 3 below for my drill and driver then another type 3 for hand tools below. The main con with these is the fact that you can't open a middle case without having to break your thumbs taking them all apart. I found this so annoying so ended up buying some hinges and bolting the lids together, now I can open whatever one I like without having to disassemble the whole stack. Now I couldn't be happier with them

Good system for organising loose tools if you're moving them around regularly. The type 2 seems the perfect size for a small general tool kit. It's a lot easier to find things in this compared to canvas tool bag. The plastic latches feel a bit flimsy but they seem to do the job well. Good value for money compared to it's competitors.

Obviously the box and filler was disowned for the jigsaw but with other fillers they can house drills, sanders etc! I also like the stacking system, a great idea! It just seems to me that it is a pity you cannot buy the tool and box at the same time? Certainly such a waste or world resources, packaging etc, which would not have to be used on purchase day!!!!
