Only had small handheld 10.8V cordless tools from Makita before. My budget 20V JCB packed up so decided to try De Walt or Makita 18V cordless to replace it. After watching numerous youtube reviews of various models of both, I decided with this model of Makita's. Glad I did. It feels solidly built works effortlessly through brickwork, plaster and breezeblocks. Will be investing in other 18v Makita tools to use with my batteries. I would certainly recommend a couple of 5ah batteries too. I thought they would be massive, but they are the same size as my old JCB 3ah LiIon ones. Bonus, as I can use my old storage case to keep everything together including the charger. A Big Thumbs Up allround.

I only use it for lightweight work so I can't comment on torque but so far it's smaller and lighter than the previous model which is perfect for my usage.

A little smaller and lighter than my previous blue Makita 18v cordless LXT BUT a bit more powerful. Very happy with it, would recommend definitely
