This radio is well put together and robust as you would expect from a make like Makita. However it is badly let down by it's speakers the bass is really bad and can not be adjusted. There are no controls to adjust the sound I'm any way. I would advise anyone to listen to one before buying.

Fantastic piece of kit - strong, well built body, can be powered either by the mains cable supplied with it or almost any Makita battery. DAB so you can get a great range of stations. Clear sound and reception. You can save 5 favourite stations each on FM & DAB with direct access buttons. Body is so well built and armoured it is rather heavy - but this makes it very stable wherever it is placed & it is even weather proof for short periods of time. Has a very loud base volume which could be a problem on some sites or in confined places. I paid £77 for this radio new & have found it to be an absolute bargain.

Its got Makita written on it so you know its good quality. Easy to set up out of the box. Good sound even when up loud. Plug to connect your phone or music device to inflict your music on everyone else. Down side as with all DAB I find is when charging batteries close by can interfere with reception and some densely constructed buildings can also cause interference however this would be the case with any DAB.

Nice solid well made piece of kit. DAB Reception not good because of where I live in NE Scotland and we don't have many channels. FM is superb. Heavy on the bass is just perfect for working outside but a bit much in a small room. Bluetooth would be nice instead of plugging aux in via a jack plug, but the additional aux socket in the battery compartment at least keeps the ipod/phone in the clean and dry.
