While the latest Aeorocinno has beautiful design, and is supposedly dishwasher friendly (no external electrics on the frother), for practical reasons I prefer the older model. Just as I wouldn't put my non-stick pans generally in the dishwasher (for fear of the combination of temperature and chemical cleaners damaging the surface), I wouldn't feel comfortable putting the Aerocinno in either (it also has a non-stick coating). That said, and combined with a lower price, I am delighted with the model 3. I bought this one to replace the old model 2 when the heating element packed in.
