This is my second unit as the first I loan'd to my daughter and in the end I let her keep it and bought a second as the first one only had the single base. After looking at several others from the cheapest to some of the most expensive I could not find any others that had these features anywhere near the price I put it next to a Makita RT0700CX2 and if these are not built in the same factory then someone has done a perfect job of copying it at a price that is less than half. if you are looking for a small router/trimmer then this is the one for you as long as you are not bothered by the name on the box.

Not sure if I got a Friday model or QC department were short staffed the day this one was made but it's not great. The box contained the item and nothing else, not even any fitting instructions. Looking at it you might think "Insert trimmer, lock clamp lever, job done!" as did I. And that was fine until I actually switched it on at which point a tool with a fast spinning, very sharp cutting blade started spinning and bouncing round in its cradle - not exactly H&S friendly. There is a nut and bolt adjustment for the clamp and so far it hasn't yet worked itself loose again. Same can't be said of a plastic wingnut just visible to the right of the base . More precisely it's a platic wing with a metal nut which I think was supposed to be epoxied in place - maybe need more/fresher/stronger epoxy as it didn't hold the nut. Whole lot came flying off in use, fortunately falling away from aforementioned fast-spinning, very sharp cutting thing. It's come of twice since in only four operations. And see the black cap on the top of the plunge column? I can't on mine. I assume there must have been one otherwise I might hve noticed the now exposed circlip before and I guess it was there for a very good reason but it's not there now. The trimmer itself appears well made for the price but this base - which some sellers are charging more for than the trimmer! - isn't. Cheap and cheerful can be fine for some things but for an important accessory for a powertool capable of causing serious injury it most certainly isn't. I bought this a little while ago but only got round to using it yesterday otherwise it would be returned for a full refund.Read full review

Only used some of attachments, which are quick to change. Router is light to handle and gives precise control even when used for freehand work without guides.
