It is a very good machine. Moved to this after my Makita decided to eat its self. The expense was lessened as i already have Milwaukee tools and so the batteries and charger. Now for the down side. The click adjustment is very stable but there are times when i need to remove the smallest about of material, just feather rather than plane a set depth. With this machine i have no remit for that. For most i will assume that this will be of zero concern. By far the biggest design mistake is the use of the smallest possible alan key bolts to hold the blades in place. Once you have a bit of dirt and resin in the 3 mm heads you can not remove the bloody blades, I had to resort to a angle grinder to slat head to grove one of the bolts and a screwdriver to remove and replace the damn thing. its too fiddly for a pro tool. With the Makita you receive a great big socket spanner not a cheap 3mm alan key that rounds out and stops working on the 2nd blade change. This is why it does not deserve a 5 star review. hope that helps someone out. I would suggest replacing the standard fittings with something else to stop a tool down time on a job. Read full review

I was very sceptical of the power of this cordless electric planner, I have now used it on a few jobs and the battery (my 2 year old drill battery) just seems to last as long as it would on my drill. The bag system works well collecting the majority of the saw dust, and the flip down protector means I can place it down flat. The wireless convenience is two fold as not only do I not have to look for extension leads I also don't have the annoyance of a trailing cable catching the work piece and destroying a steady per longed stroke. I like the base guide plate that came with it although I haven't used it yet other than a quick practice No big negatives it is quite heavy in the hand due to the weight of the battery but a two hand grip solves that issue and like any new tool you get used to it. A hard carry case would be nice, even a soft bag - mine only came in a cardboard box Read full review

Great planer like all my other Milwaukee cordless tools got as much power as a corded powertool without the hassle of leads getting in the way. Best to use 9ah battery and make sure it is a proper Milwaukee one

Excellent planer, feels well made and produces a smooth finish and motor is powerful. The shavings collection bag collets most of the debris so not a problem to use indoors. Fine adjustment on depth gauge
