Bought this book to learn how to make better F-18 Hornet models. The contents includes 1) Introduction; 2) Tools and materials; 3) F/A-18C Hornet, Operation Desert Fox 1999 (Hasegawa, 1/48); 4) F/A-18C Hornet VFA-86, 1996 (Academy, 1/32); 5) F-18D 'Night Hornet' two-seater (Hasegawa, 1/48); 6) F/A-18F 'Super Bugs' Hornet, VFA-41 (Italeri, 1/48); 7) F/A-18C Hornet (Academy, 1/32); 8) Special modelling ideas; 9) Further reading, media and websites; 10) Museums and collections; 11) Kits available; 12) Index What I like about this book is the author provides references of the real aircraft against the subject he is building up. Along the way, he also shares the strengthes & weaknesses of the various kits, how to bring out the details and correct the inaccuracies, and how aftermarket details can help spice up each model. Pictures of various building stages and the complete models add up the reference value. At the end, author gave further reading, media and website references so the reader/modeller can do more cross-referencing on their own. He also gave a short writeup on various kits available in the 2005 market. Lastly is a color guide on color used on the Hornets. Osprey books never disappoints me. Highly recommended.Read full review
