In his famous Diary, written in the 1870s, the Rev Francis Kilvert described the people and the landscape of Radrshire and Herefordshire with an eloquence that has stood the test of time. The rolling hills and lush green meadows bounding the River Wye are still as alluring today as they were during his daily travels 140 years ago. Photographers, Nick Jenkins and Kevin Thomas have taken up the challenge to show that the area has changed little over time. They spent many hours travelling the same green lanes that Kilvert did, recording their experiences in photographs rather than words. The hills, fields, hedgerows and in particular the River Wye, which meanders its way gently through the magnificent, tranquil landscape, have provided a feast of evocative images.
