I have been a long time fan of clam-shell (flip top) mobiles particularly Nokia, this being because I have large arthritic fingers and clam-shells tend to have larger keypads but not externally too large when closed. The downside to flip tops is the continues opening of the phone causes premature failure of the flexible connector ribbon between display and main phone body. I decided to replace the ribbon on my Nokia 6600 Fold but wanted a phone as a standby in case things went wrong. I liked the look of the MOTORAZR2 with its large keypad and slip depth but was less enthusiastic about its features compared with my Nokia 6131 and 6600 flip tops. For example no radio. I should add I use a mobile as a phone (occasional camera & radio)and not an online play thing. My experience is the MOTORAZR2 meets with my need for a large keypad, however its most frustrating feature is a very slow CPU performance plus poor battery life. I am retired now and no longer have extended business calls which would kill this battery very quickly. I don't like touch smart phones and anybody considering my preferred option should look at (first choice) Nokia 6131 and then Nokia 6600 Fold (if you can get a low mileage one) before the Motorola.Read full review
Fantastic phone for money, have always had razr, this is the first razr v2 8 my wife has owned and she loves it. She wanted to stay with a flip phone and is not bothered with it not being a modern smart type. It does what she wants and works well, looks good as well. Very good value.

Had two previous phones exactly the same and was really pleased to find another. I don't use the internet from my mobile but like the fact this is easy to use, has a good clear speaker, neat appearance and I like the clam shell design which is not so easy to find.I wish they would re-launch the phone as I hate smart phones and hope that I can always find another when this one wears out! The only downside is the battery which runs out quickly and the authentic replacements are expensive to buy.
Super quality 'non smart phone'. For those who don't need all the 'whistles and bells' and games etc,, this is ideal. It is very compact (unlike most phones today) and slips into a small pocket. Still with useful features and is very intuitive in use. The only downside, texting is rather slow but, if you keep your messages to a minimum, no problem! I have used Motorola 'flip phones' for years and they have always been totally reliable and 'user friendly'. Recommended!

It's old so don't expect features or anything out the ordinary, but a Moto Classic and that's what I love! LOL.
