Bought this for my kids who are learning to write and speak Chinese; as its portable and is associated with game play i.e. Nintendo DS. What I like about it is that it does what it says on the packet. I have noticed that the youngest age nine who is reluctant to study and would rather play games and watch TV (A NO BRAINER REALISATION); will when told i.e. while waiting the fiftenn minutes for the school gates to open, of his own choice of exercises, practice the Chinese charaters 'stroke order'; this repeated time adds up to at leat an hour a week (4 days worth at best) extra practice, so much so that his Chinese school mark average has gone up from next to non-exsitent to pass for his age level! I myself have bought and am making progrees with 'My Japanese Coach' with the same result. This learning tool is not the be all and end all of learning, but you can steal 15-20 minutes here and there and repeat the same exercise untill mastered. I base my study approach on the fact that 'familiarity breeds contempt' it works! Worth the minimal outlay on a used copy.Read full review
