A quarter of the size of my old Netgear 8 port switch (which only handled 10M or 100M traffic). This new one does 1000M, just right for my new Virgin V6 cable box! It's PnP out of the box, so easy and simple!

This is a basic switch. It takes cables in the back to link devices and shows if they are connected by lights on the front. The instructions are barely more than what is contained on the above two sentences. Gut it works, at least for my setup - a mixed Windows / Linux / Android setup with a mix of static and DHCP addresses. A router connects to the internet and the wireless devices, the switch connects the router and the wired devices. The staus lights flicker when there is activityand are steady green otherwise. There is no means of knowing whether the connected device is 10, 100 or 1000 MBps. It is small enough to sit on top of an average tower case and is supplied with a mains adapter. It was supplied in a box with an "egg carton" inner tray securely holding the router and psu. No cables otherwise are supplied. The box endured the rigours of the delivery service without damage. If all you want to do is connect a couple of PCs, a printer and a router then this does the job wellRead full review

So easy to connect up and works on all connections not given me any problems up to now I also have the five port Netgear switch which I've had for about three years and still working that's why I chose a NetGear product again.
