A very moving documentary/drama about the war crimes of Japanese soldiers in Nanking China. It gives an account of a small group of oridinary but very brave Westerners who set up a safe zone to try to protect two hundred and fifty thousand Chinese men women and children from being tortured, and murdered in the most cruel ways you can imagine. Actual graphic images will leave you moved and horrified the the ways they were killed and were mainly for the Japanese solders entertainment who regarded the Chinese no better than pigs. One wonders how such honourable people as the Japanese could behave in such a notorious ways and they still deny today these crimes. But all has been recorded on film a well produced must see film on how a very small group of people stood up to the Japanese in order to save the Chinese from a terrible fate of being burned alive, rape, decapitation. Prisoners tied together with barbed wire mowned down by machine guns as the Japanese tried to cover up their crimes. Babies on the end of bayonets is not a sight for the faint hearted all to the amusement of the Japanese. John Rabe long after the war had ended was remembered and helped by the Chinese as he had helped them in the safe zone. A very moving must see film.Read full review
