I've just come down from a bridge to a compact which takes a lot of adjustment on my part, especially in the handling, which I'm finding awkward, but that's not really the camera's fault. The other thing I miss is having a viewfinder, Holding the camera steady at arm's length is difficult and trying to compose a pic on the big screen, especially when the sun's reflecting off it, is tricky. However, the picture quality is superb and the zoom is more than plenty, anything bigger would cause all kinds of problems keeping focussed. Lots of other features too, and I love the special effects mode. One slight criticism is the lens cover, which feels a little flimsy, otherwise I'm delighted with it.
Very amazing machine! Perfect video, perfect picture, long life battery! There's no better own category. Not expensive, good camera.
A very good compact camera, however, when using it at more than half the zoom potential it definitely needs to be on a tripod or something similar to keep it rock steady, it also pays dividends to use the timer for long zoom shots to avoid any chance of camera shake caused by pressing the shutter release button. It can appear a little complicated at first but usage, i.e. practise with it, will soon give you the idea on how you wish to use it to get the shots you want. All in all a pretty good camera for the price.
