This book so clearly demonstrates dystopia. It does so iconically, so no surprises there for anyone who's heard of the book. The world at the moment, or maybe it's just more obvious now, has many of the roots of such a dystopia. However, not from the where you think. The foundation of democracy is under siege, I may sound melodramatic, but when there are groups calling for the nullification of votes. Demanding that revotes be performed, or simply labelling those who voted one way as all doing so for one reason (a usually nefarious one). Dystopias never start as a dystopia. The road to evil is paved with good intentions. Liberty is absolute, and at the risk of this review becoming a series of quotes, those who trade liberty for security deserve neither. I try not to go into details purely because it would ruin it for the reader.Read full review

It's a golden oldie which gets better with age given the advantage of hindsight.
