For those that know this story, I need to say nothing more! For those wishing to read this ultimate love story set against the backdrop of the industrial revolution in a fictional northern town, it's full of fantastic classical references and it's a great education on the way of speaking and writing of the mid 19th century. A book for the bookshelf! Book itself was in great condition.

I'm enjoying the realistic-for-today character studies. Good to identify with the individuals in their own reactions to the situations they find themselves in. These days, the daughter would say 'I'm not doing with this. I'm moving out and living my own life.' The story is more realistic and 'deeper' than a Jane Austen novel. The differences between the 'Industrial North' and the 'Soft South' are much less today; though many of us have our own views on this. In this book, how the characters voice their opinions is a real eye-opener and is very un-PC, and even shocking, to the more evened-out standards and experiences we have increasingly these days. So far I have only read 2 or 3 chapters, so lots to look forward to!
