The particular camera I purchased had a small fault so I had to return it, but in general, this model is really excellent. I knew up-front that it was a heavy beast, so there's absolutely nothing for me to complain about. Team it up with an SWD pro lens from Olympus (also heavy, but excellent optics) and focussing is fast and accurate, image quality is excellent, and the controls are all intuitive and easy to use. The first digital camera I've found that can hold a candle to my old Canon A1 35mm outfit.

I previously owned an Olympus E-510, and was very disappointed with the results of one particular shoot. I found this body at Ebay, and took the plunge price-wise. The seller (kerso) was brilliant, and kept me updated along the way. I have used the camera for a couple of months now, and am really impressed. The results are stunning, whether in daylight or flash, and I have found the controls pretty intuitive. The build quality is fantastic, although it does add a bit or weight. This body has now been superseded by the E-5, but it is still a great bit of kit. If you don't want the video capability of the E-5, this is still a fantastic product. Snap one up before Olympus possibly withdraw it.
I was bidding camera twice , he bid me up them put the camera for a third time for the same price. If he is not happy with price he will bid your offer up. Scammer!!!!

As professional users move to full frame in the meagapixel race or go smaller with compact interchangeables, now is the time to buy used pro grade Olympus four-thirds equipment at reasonable prices. This has given me, a complete amateur, the chance to buy excellent kit at a price that I can afford. I have no regrets. I bought my used Olympus E3 camera body at a very good price because of a scratch on the monitor screen. This was easy to repair once I had found the correct spare parts. I was lucky, the camera I bought also had a very low shutter count. The most significant advantage of this camera body is that it gives you fully compatible access to the complete range of excellent Olympus Zuiko four thirds lenses. When used with pro-range Zuiko lenses, like the excellent 12-60mm, it is weather and dust proof. This camera is significantly heavier than the Olympus E4xx series compact DSLRs but this gives it a better balance when used with the heavier pro range lenses for which it was designed. I particularly like the built-in image stabilisation, which works with all four-thirds lenses. Unlike some other makes, you don’t need to buy special image stabilised lenses. The multiple point auto-focus is very controllable and works well. In live view, you can magnify an area of the image to allow precise manual focus - very useful for macro work. I like the top mounted monochrome LCD display, the instant access buttons for the most used features and the way in which you can bring up more information on the main colour monitor screen. I found that one part of the design took some getting used to - there is no mode dial. You change mode by pressing a button and then turning the control wheel. This may be a deliberate feature as I notice that Olympus take steps on all their pro cameras to make it difficult to accidentally change modes. Whilst some have criticised the low light noise performance of the four-thirds sensor, I found that it was perfectly adequate and no worse than the APS sized sensor in my non-Olympus camera. Would I still chose to buy it? At the right price, definitely yes.Read full review
