Like the Elephant the story plodded along. Amusing in places, but a slow slog even the drop from the aircraft did not raise any excitement in me, nor did the shooting chase on the river. I was pleased the Elephant got to its intended destination and that I got to the end of the film. One funny line I remember as the Elephant in a parachute dropped to the ground. An enemy soldier said " I did not join the army to shoot at Elephants".

The film is basicaly a mix of a war film with a comedy. To keep the use of a native village during the Vietnam war, a US Army officer and his unit struggle to deliver it a live elephant. With a mismatched motley crew featuring the great Ray Liotta (Goodfellas) and Denis Leary (Rescue Me)what could go wrong! This is a great wee film, it is light hearted and funny, and who could complain when you get to watch a young (sexy) Ray Liotta!!
