A strong and not afraid to shock prison drama that ran for a total of six seasons. Got this after watching first two seasons on dvd. You fnd yourself just wanting more. Set in Oswald correctional facility focusing on the special wing known as Emerald city. More of an experiment than a prison with glass instead of bars. Loads of plot lines going on with the different groups fighting for control of the drug trade and revenge always seemingly to be the order of the day. Never fails to have something going on. Constantly fluctuating fragile alliances between the different groups such as the Ayrian's, Bikers, Irish, Italians, Muslim, Latinos, Homeboys,etc always providing a powder keg of tension and spontaneous violence. Loads of actors that you'll reconigise from other shows such as Law and order, Lost, Sopranos's,etc. Something for almost everyone.Read full review
The series OZ from 1-6 is without a doubt one the most riveting tv experiences that I can remember,if you enjoy gripping movies such as Heat,The Usual Suspects or great box sets such as Deadwood tv viewing were you cant wait to see what happens next,you will love OZ.I saw series 1 for sale on ebay,I honestly knew nothing about the show,it was going to be up in about 30mins with no bidders,I read some feedback from other OZ fans,liked what I read and thought this will do me,bid,won & recieved series one.That was it,I was hooked!As you may have read from others,it is often hard viewing,but the violence is never just there for the sake of it,it fits into some stunning story lines,some of the characters are very hard work,not the sort you would like to meet on a dark night,but you just cannot wait for the next installment.Great Stuff.Do give this series a go,I dont think you will be dissapointed.Read full review
I an an avid collector of Prison Drama/Action/True crime VCR,DVD's and whatever else, Oz just happened to be a series I have nt seen In full so I decided to get this one as it was a good price. The only problem now is I want to buy the whole 7-8 series! Excellent buy.
Best show ever made! Lots of depth into and empathy with the characters, gripping storylines, action romance, comedy. It's just amazing.
