I needed a player that recorded onto DVD - I got one. This serves my purposes very well. It is easy enough to use (with practise) and for a box so old, it's picture quality is admirable. Still a chunky piece of kit compared to what we have today through so room is needed!! I would recommend this for anyone seeking out either 1) A cheap reliable DVD recorder or 2) A cheap DVD player that will last a long time. Can't go wrong with a Panasonic really... :-)

This is a brilliant machine, but is no longer made. Get yours well set up as an updated all-region used machines as this seller does. It has two Scart out/inputs and RCA out/inputs and will record and edit DVD-RAM disks. With two such machines you can copy edited RAM (with adverts removed) to cheap DVD disks and keep them for ever. No more modern in/outputs so you need a scart or RCA TV. The only problem I have ever found with these machines is that the front displays are rather dim and that the machines are now hard to get. These are for the people who want to continue to use RAM disks for recording and editing and making their own DVDs.
