The GH4 is great for video and stills. The customisable menus are really useful and you can basically fine-tune the camera to suit all kinds of circumstances that you can access immediately as required. It can do so much that it takes a while to learn all the options but if you like this kind of thing then it's really fun to use. Of course you can use it on auto too if you want and the results are impressive – however, I use all the functions because I love having full control. The only downside is that it doesn't have in-body stabilisation and even though I have Lumix lenses with the in-built OIS, it's not easy to produce stable enough footage without extra gear. My old EM5 m1 can outperform the GH4 on stabilisation. Other than that, the picture quality is good enough to use in professional video, and the 4K Cine-D and Cine-V settings are lush. The highlight/ shadow adjustments in camera are great too, if you want to flatten the image to look like V-log for colour grading later – there's an upgrade to real V-log available if you pay for it. One battery lasts me a full day of filming. Oh yes, and although this is MFT not full frame, you can use other lenses with an adapter for interesting results. It's the lenses that will help you get the most out of this great little camera.Read full review

The GH4 packs all of Panasonic's expertise into one small device. It has been used in Hollywood and is hailed at the most affordable professional level camera which can film in Cinematic 4k as well as Ultra HD 4k. It also offers a range of video options which pros will appreciate such as 96fps 1080p and V-LOG L flat pcture profile. The micro four thirds sensor offers photographers and cinematographers with a compact option. The image quality for stills is superb, either with the native M43 lenses from Panasonic or Olympus, or with other lenses. The beauty of having the smaller sensor is that most lenses from ither brands can easily be used with a cheap adapter. The GH4 is weatherproof, offering peace of mind for outdoor shooters. The whole body feels very sturdy and has obviously been made to withstand heavy use. Recording is conveniently done onto SD cards in a side compartment. The battery is one of the best in the business, offering over 4 hours video recording.Read full review

Excellent camera, easy to use or as complex as you want, having previously used a GX1, I upgraded especially to the larger viewing screen. The camera can be run fully automatic with perfect results or more complex for those who want to revert to manual mode.

A superb, pro video camera with all the functions you could want! The high frame rate makes it a great option for filming sports. I used this camera for a mountain bike video and the 4x slow motion combined with a good Steadicam works a treat! All in all a stunning bit of kit. If you are serous about video I highly recommend this camera!
