I bought this from a seller on ebay and saved a lot of money. I also purchased 2800mAh batteries. I went on a 4 day trip to Rome and shot over 600 photos without having to charge the batteries. There is a setting on the camera for museums so the flash is not used and it was perfect for going round the sights of Rome. Results were excellent but the standard lens is not perfect as the corners of the photo can get dark (vignetting) on some settings. I already had loads of Pentax gear and it all fits. I looked at other brands before choosing the Pentax but I am very pleased that I chose the Pentax over the others especially for the anti shake technology built into the body. This was excellent when shooting low light subjects in museums, etc.
Bought for use with older lenses - used with old SLR camera. The camera is functionally very fast and sound, quick to capture the action, however, it eats batteries, it would be better to have a rechargeable powerpack instead, especially when you are downloading those bigger file sizes to the PC. As a basic camera platform with the ability to use old K' mount lenses, it is a very good move into digital SLR territory, but at 6 mp and over use of batteries, it maybe worth considering a more up to date option and forget the old lenses.
It’s easy to use.

I was looking for a 'host' for my existing PENTAX lenes, the K100D is an excellent platform for these, I now have bought two! I have been a PENTX groupie since the 70's and have stuck with the brand throughout. My cameras went to the first Gulf War and 14 touirs of Bosnia, if I had to buy another camera, it would be PENTAX, I also own a K5, and recommend them to anyone. Boylee386
