    It works good

My rear window tab broke, so I saw this product and gave it a go. Instructions are easy to follow the only thing I found was that it wasn't quite thick as I thought, slightly runny but it's done the job my tab is fixed and my rear window deffoger works

  • Most critical review

    Not very strong

I carried out the preparation to reattach a tab to my rear screen very carefully before using the product as directed. The initial bond was good and the connection resistance was low but on trying to attach the wire, after leaving it to set for 24 hours, the tab pulled off very easily. Just the weight of the cable seemed to be enough to pull the tab off.

  • Maybe I had a duff item.

Well I found this on a YouTube video and it seemed to work for the guy demonstrating it, however it was a different case when I tried it. I followed the instructions to a tee, yes I did mix the adhesive for ages to make sure it was all combined, I wiped the cleaner/activator on both surfaces just like in the video and the instructions, both areas were clean and free of contaminates before hand and I waited for the drying times as per instructions, I held the tab for over a minute but it just did not stick, the adhesive was not hardening, in fact after leaving it for a few hours on my bench it was still as wet as when I started. So maybe I had the bad one but for me a total waste of money.

  • Couldn't get it to work.

We tried this product and to be blunt it didn't work. I followed all the instructions to the letter. Maybe it will work for you but sorry but I can't recommend it.

  • Stuck well but the repair didn't last.

We followed the instructions, the glue fixed the tab back to the screen element surprisingly well, and the demister was fixed. For about 2 days. The tab is still stuck on, but the demister stopped working so I guess electrical conductivity was lost.

  • Not working

I followed all the instructions, lightly sanded contacts, cleaned thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, mixed the glue very well...The glue itself is holding tab very strongly, but it's not conducting electricity. It basically isolated tab from the defroster busbar. There is no electric conduction between tab and defroster.

  • a heated rear screen glue that works!!!

I really didnt think this stuff would work! However, it was really simple to use and it fixed the connector back on the heated screen in a matter of minutes. Well done ITW Permatex.

  • Might work for you but certainly didn't for me

Like a few other reviewers I found this to be totally useless. Followed the instructions to the letter but also found the glue to be useless. After holding firmly in place for an extra minute the tab simply fell straight off - there was no sign of this glue hardening at all and here over 30 minutes later it is still wet. On the plus side it wasn't much to spend to attempt a fix but ultimately no good.

  • A great product that actually works

I’ve been in the motor trade over 40 years and this is the first product i’ve used that actually stuck the demister tabs back in place. There’s only just enough in the kit to do 2 tabs so don’t waste any when applying.

  • Permatex

I used this product with good success a couple of years ago. When the tab fell off again I ordered some more. This seemed more watery and didn't work this time. Disappointed as it didn't seem to set.
