tape has a bad spot in the begain, but im happy thank you, need to tell people if has been from blockbuster, that means its been watched many many times but still was worth the buy
If you've read my other reviews you will know I received a number of 'cheap & nasty' DVDs of a vaguely Science Fiction nature for Christmas last year. This is yet another one of those DVDs. You may also know I don't normally watch films out of sequence but someone seems to have 'borrowed' my copy of 'Circuitry Man' [another one of those DVDs and the DVD to which this is the sequel] and a four day bout of intestinal 'flu coupled with 24 hours of vomitting bile had reduced me to the point where I thought things couldn't get any worse so I watched this DVD last night. God was I wrong. Having my head back down the toilet heaving up luminous yellow bile would have been preferable. How can I be polite about this? The plot was very confused and spread over several strands one of which had no relevance whatsoever and seemed to be there purely to provide mild 'comic relief' a role which it, sadly, failed to live up to. The special effects are at best bad and at worst abysmal. I can't imagine how low the effects budget must have been but I have seen better effects in an early 1960s episode of Doctor Who and, in true 'Lost In Space' fashion, Love wins the day and a simple kiss defeats the evil Plughead which is corny beyond belief. Having said that there were a few [and I mean a few] interesting bits and one memorable quote 'Why Jack Off When You Can Jack In' but that was it. Honest. With one notable exception none of the characters were likable [or well acted] and the whole thing a waste of time. The exception was without a doubt Jim Metzler. He was the undisputed star of this travesty of a film and his presence single handedly raised the rating to 'Below Average'. No mean feat in itself. Traci lords, however, was bad to the point of embarassing. A former underage porn star she was, in my opinion, only there to get her t!ts out and roll around naked. If I were to be generous I would have to admit Nicholas Worth deserves an honourable mention as the mute idiot Rocket who is in love with a rock. Yes, a rock. Say no more... Please! Perhaps if I had seen the original 'Circuitry Man' I would have been able to appreciate this DVD better but, to be brutally honest, I doubt it. This is pure unmitigated drivel and simply not worth watching. Do yourself a favour; don't buy this, don't watch this, don't even pick it up and read the cover. This is 90 minutes of my life I will never, ever, get back. Regards tbodRead full review
